Got in an was immediately tooken care of. Ate the buffet and thoroughly enjoyed the many different foods that were presented. I definitely enjoed the scrumptious desert. Definatly would recomend and you can even order your own food as needed! The staff is very personable an friendly, kept us all happy throughout our stay. Was simply delicious and fast! Delicious buffet items. We always have left overs to take home. We like to stop here whenever we go through Des Moines. They gave us the wrong menu item and not only refunded our money but remade our meals. The manager was very friendly and apologetic. Out of the 3 or 4 dozen times we've been here this was the first ever mistake they've made. All the entrees and buffet items are yummy. Great location and easy access from I-80. The prices are very reasonable and the quantity and quality of the food is above par. Clean, friendly atmosphere and staff.

This place turned out to be much more than expected. First of all, we decided to eat here since we had some coupons we received in the mail. I really don't know why we never ate here sooner and I wish we had. Our family of five all ordered the buffet, with the exception of myself.. I ordered the buffet as well as a NY Strip steak with a baked potato. The steak arrived just as I ordered it (medium rare) and actually had really great flavor. The buffet had a very wide selection of different foods as well as a very extensive salad bar. The dinner rolls they served are warm and very soft. They have a self-serve ice cream machine and you can make your own sundaes with numerous toppings to choose from. The wait staff was very attentive and the manager also came around and asked us how everything was. I truly was impressed with this restaurant and I plan to make frequent visits in the future.

FORMERLY (certainly NOT now), the Salad portion of the buffet had crisp lettuce in nice bite size pieces with genrous chunks of purple cabbage, carrott slivers & etc. Currently, the salad is in HUGE chunks and the lettuce is limp, brown on some edges and downright wilted in a few areas. The steaks ? are something else. They do have a tasty generous sized ribeye. HOWEVER, it must be frozen when ordered as it comes out barely tanned on the surface, but the inside is completely well done-NOT TOO APPEALING, especially when you have paid over $12.99+ for it. Bring back the decent lettuce & fresh tomatoes (none currently) and somehow get the ribeye medium rare on the inside and seared on the outside-like I can do on my home grill (of course I am not starting with a frozen steak).

This isn't the Bonanza I remember of years ago. Back in the day, they featured a large salad bar, some soups, and a small dessert bar and that was it; these were meal accompaniments of course. The Bonanza of today has a decent sized salad bar, but they also offer other options on a 'hot line' . These items seem to be of an inferior quality--some of them included chicken & noodles, mac & cheese, and the most unappetizing stuffing I've seen in my life--you could see water in it. The Chicken Monterrey I ordered with my meal was prepared well and included a slice of garlic toast; something I don't remember them doing in the past. A woman named Suzi took care of me and ensured my water glass remained filled and she cleared my plates promptly. If I return, I hope she waits on me again; her service was better than I've experienced at much nicer restaurants. Members of management were also visible and seemed to appreciate each customer that walked through the doors. Something interesting that had near the doors was a large TV that ran old Bonanza commercials from the past.
